On Saturday, we completed pre-splash checklists in preparation for splash before April fools day.

Boats on the hard for winter work
We leave one boat available for sailing until about January 1 when we must winterize the engine. The other boats are hauled out for winter repairs, upgrades and routine maintenance. We will begin sanding bottoms for new antifouling paint soon.

New Member Oxford Overnighter
New members do first overnight ever on a boat to Oxford with PSA skipper. Weather was fantastic, sailed 90% of the time. We went through Knapp’s Narrows. Stayed at Safe Harbor Marina, Oxford. Borrowed bicycles from marina for dinner at Latitude 38 Restaurant. Food was excellent.

PSA women raced Vivace in the Herrington Harbor Sailing Association’s Women’s Regatta June 26
Wind was 15—20 knots. The regatta is a series of 3 races. Vivace finished races 3rd, and 2nd, but did not start for the second race. Despite this setback, the crew finished 4th overall in a class of 7.
Our weekly competition in the Wednesday evening Pirates Cove series prepares our crews to compete well in other races through the season.

Our training skippers took advantage of some exciting weather to season members in rough conditions Saturday and Sunday–wind to 30 knots with rain.
